Retirement Planning

Achieving “financial independence” in retirement is a major objective for the majority of people today. You may be already working towards this, with a variety of different assets; however, the efficient use of pension arrangements is still the most popular and effective method of planning. Most people do not realise that their pension fund will quite often be their largest asset, second only to the family home

Very few people understand their pensions; at Fraser Wealth Management we will provide a detailed analysis of your retirement provision to date, which will assist you in identifying your proposed level of income at your selected retirement date. More importantly, it will identify whether you are on track to achieve your objectives.

The Financial Services Authority recognises our Directors as Pension Specialists and they are able to advise in the following areas:

Pension Transfers

Individuals end up accumulating many pension contracts over their working life. A detailed analysis on these arrangements is required to ensure that they are maximising their potential benefits. The vast majority of Financial Advisers are not authorised to advise in these areas.

Fraser Wealth Management can provide the necessary recommendations for best course of action. This area includes all types of occupational pension schemes, such as:

  • Final Salary Schemes
  • Occupational Money Purchase schemes
  • Executive Pension Plans
  • Small Self Administered Schemes (SSAS)
  • Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP)

Personal & Stakeholder Pensions

With the introduction of Stakeholder Pensions in April 2001, it is vital that any arrangements taken out prior to this date are reviewed, as you may be paying excessive charges when compared to the new regime.

We use the O&M Pension Profiler system in order to identify whether a ‘switch’ to a new arrangement could reduce charges and increase the potential fund at retirement. The O&M system is the leading pension software used by pension specialists advising clients on pension switches and transfers.

We can advise on the establishment of Stakeholder Pension Schemes for both companies and individuals.
